Hacienda la Esperanza; Back to the Future

Our multifunctional country estate Hacienda la Esperanza, 1.114 hectares in Costa Rica, still remains the flagship of the Forest Returns fleet. These last 5 weeks my associate (and also founding mother of 100% Zomer bv ) Marije van Zomeren and I have been working very hard in Surinam.

Not only for Landgoed Groot Mariënbosch, as we discussed the fertile future of Hacienda la Esperanza too !
The next weeks  Marije and I will add the  final touches on our plans concerning `Sustainable Hospitality, Spa, Wellness, Sports and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Events)` concerning Hacienda la Esperanza.


Growth, growth, growth...
Since 2004 we increased the initial property in Costa Rica from 394 hectares, step-by-step to 1.114 hectares. Eagle view ? Fly to my aerial pictures, made from the hangglider Eagle. The estimated real (!) assets increased  meanwhile to more than US $ 22.000.000. Thanks to our Notary in Zeist, mr. Arend Woortmann, we could realise Autumn 2008 a very successful new emission of  shares by Vereenigde Costaricaanse Compagnie bv amounting more than
€ 6.500.000.  Vereenigde Costaricaanse Compagnie bv became the one and only owner of the entire property.

As  Costarican "Presidente de La Esperanza Int. de Heredia S.A." I am still very pleased with our "Gerente General", Theo de Wijs. During my last visit to Costa Rica, Autumn 2008, I prolonged his management contract for an other period of three years (2009 - 2012).

As mark of honour to Theo I appointed him Captain of the Year 2008 on 31 December 2008. Sail to this specific "Publication" and see some relevant pictures on "Photography".

I am also pleased with the presentation of the proposed marketing plan for Hacienda la Esperanza by Annemiek Schlief & Tirza Meinema under supervision of 100 % Zomer bv, directed by Marije van Zomeren. See some pictures  concerning their duo-presentation on Monday, 23 February 2009, soon  after our return from Surinam.


Back to the Future
Since my return from Surinam last Sunday and after the short and snappy presentation by Annemiek & Tirza, as mentioned above, Marije and I are putting the final touches  -day and night- on our joint presentation on Wednesdag, 04 March 2009, for the share-holders of Vereenigde Costaricaanse Compagnie bv in Austerlitz, starting at 19:30  sharp...
